QuickBooks - The system Theme settings have changed. You must restart your application to apply those settings

What happens ? 

When you open QuickBooks on a host using MyQuickCloud, you might get a message Window saying "The system Theme settings have changed. You must restart your application to apply those settings"


 

Possible fix it

Some QuickBooks users managed to fix the issue by following the steps below.


1 - Close any opened QuickBooks

Close QuickBooks for all users on the host computer.

2 - Edit the QuickBooks QBW.ini file

Do these steps on the host computer, not remotely.

  • Start QuickBooks

  • Press the F2 key. This will open the Product Information window

  • While in this window, press the F3 key, this will open the Tech Help window.



 

  • Select the Open File tab.

  • Click on the QBWUSER.INI file in the list to select it. DO NOT click on others, as this window lets you select multiple files.

  • Click the Open File button. This will open the file in the Notepad text editor, usually.

  • Add the following at the end of the file and save the file (Do not change other settings unless you know what the effect would be.):

LightSwitchSkin=1
LightSwitchFont=1
LightSwitchTheme=0



 

  • Close QuickBooks and restart the host computer
